New Google Service, GOOG-411, The New Yellow Book!
2008-04-22 02:44:00
Myadlets is reporting what might be another Google Advertising tool to come. This time it is bringing that good old phone book to the fore. Many others have tried to automate this service before. In fact one my first telephony application was dial in to find music venues and clubs in Los Angeles. Before even even we could lift our hands from equipment racks and IVR servers, someone bought the whole thing. But I have a feeling that this is going to hold. Now the service is available only in USA and I am sure just like other Google initiatives, this will travel to other countries.MyADLETS: GOOG-411, The New Yellow Book !tag: Yellow Pages, virtual Yellow Pages, GOOG-411,Copyright © 2005-2008 SnapVoip, Published by Proper link backs are needed for republishing.

iPhone Flip With 3G In A Pig Skin
2008-04-19 22:49:00
I just got some information on the upcoming 3G iPhone. Looks like the first bunch who bought the iPhone are guinea pigs, and the phone companies who signed in for exclusive contracts are pig herders.Because iPhone is going to change in radical ways so that people will point at current iPhone and ask "Whaat is Thaat?" and the phone companies will find the guy next door also sells the iPhone!Following info came from, Jonathan Richards at TimesOnLine."Steve Jobs's (Apple's chief executive) end game is not to limit distribution and maximise carrier payments. It's to bring the best mobile platform to the market and then sell as many units as possible. There's lots of ways Apple can drive revenue from the iPhone that aren't part of the current model."Times Online understands that Apple has placed an order with its Asian suppliers to produce 200,000 of the new 3G iPhones by the end of May, rising to 2 million - 500,000 per week - in June. With a four week lead time between production...

Awards Galore For Asterisk and Digium
2008-04-18 13:13:00
We should not be surprised for Asterisk receiving awards but every time I see that Asterisk does, I smile with satisfaction. Everyone of us are aware that Asterisk not only gave us the best Open Source Telephony Solution, it also changed the market. I remember when we had to 5-6 figure costs for simple PBX and 5 figure cost for add on VoIP card for existing PBXs. But now those prices have come down drastically. I am sure Asterisk played a major part in making IP PBX, everybody's tool. Then the other side of it, the whole new industry and service that was build behind Asterisk to support, promote and extend Asterisk. As a whole these factors have made Asterisk a formidable force in the telecommunications arena. So these awards, valuable confirmations from those who sees the true value of Asterisk.Congratulations Asterisk!Following is a news release from Asterisk.Open source telephony industry leader recognized for technology innovation and quality HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—April 15, 2008...

Cogoblue, Another Visual Configurator For Asterisk
2008-04-18 09:56:00
Today I read about ISPBX' announcement (below) of Cogoblue, a visual configuration tool for Asterisk . Looks like the other commercial Visual configuration tool that I know, Visual Dialplan for Asterisk going have a competitor.I have mentioned about Visual Dialplan for Asterisk from version 1.2 to the latest version Visual Dialplan beta for linux. I have also tested the Visual Dialplan. And keep in mind that I have not compared every feature to feature of both these products but by browsing through both the applications capabilities as presented. Both promise to make life easier for people who deploy and manage Asterisk IPPBX.One big difference is that COGOBLUE is currently available only on ISPBX hardware. The Visual Dialplan is an application for Windows and Linux both of which could be tested before purchasing. I hope ISPBX will release a hardware independence version that will be useful to millions of Asterisk users everywhere. Because, there is ...
