Om Mani Padme Hum | a sufic interpretation
2008-11-19 04:19:00
1."Om Mani Padme Hum" is one of the most recited mantra among all faith traditions combined. No matter where you see a buddhist monk or practitioner, whether in the remote deserts of mongolia or the zen monastery of california, every where in the world this mantra is found to be repeated. In Tibet there are adept monks to be found who chant it during all their waking hours as long as they live. The vibrational effect it produce when in a large hall of a buddhist monastery all the monk chant this mantra together is both tremendous and beautiful.2. Mantra of The Compassionate OneIn Tibetan Buddhism this mantra evokes the Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion and mercy which is also known by other names such as Avalokitesvara, Guan Yin (Kuan Yin), Padmapa-ni, and Lokes'vara. Interestingly enough Avalokiteshvara?s name means "The Lord Who Looks Down (in compassion)." Avalokitesvara is also popularly known as Padmapani, or "Holder of the Lotus."Because of the mantra's connection wit...

Interpretation of dreams in Islamic Wisdom Tradition
2008-05-26 05:27:00
1.On many occasions Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace, after finishing the morning prayer in the mosque, he would face the companions and ask, "Who amongst you had a dream last night?" So if anyone had seen a dream he /she would narrate it. The Prophet would say: "Ma sha'a-llah" (God has willed it) and he would continue interpreting the dream. Thus dream interpretation, specially in group was practiced from the very time of the Prophet, which tradition is also carried and practiced in many sufi orders and has distinguished place in Islamic wisdom tradition.2.Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said, "Nothing is left of Prophethood except glad tidings." Those with him asked, "What are glad tidings?" He replied, "True dreams / visions."- Sahih Al-BukhariThe Prophet Muhammad mentioned that after he was gone prophecy would come only through true dreams. Based on this and other statements, early Muslims created what might be called a theology of dreams. Dreams were regarded as an impo...
My Interpretation
2008-05-04 19:59:00
It is possible that you might be checking this site once in a while. I hope so. At least right now. This one's for you.You talk about life, you talk about death, and everything in between, like it's nothing, and the words are easy. You talk about me, you talk about you, and everything I do, like it's something, that needs repeating.I don't need an alibi or for you to realize the things we left unsaid are only taking space up in our heads.Make it my fault, win the game, point the finger, place the blame and toss me up and down.It doesn't matter now.Does it really matter? If half of what you said is true, and half of what I didn't do could be different, would it make it better? If we forget the things we know, would we have somewhere to go?This is my interpretation, and I don't, don't make sense.

The Best Correction To The Correction Of A Lame Interpretation of A Song.
2008-04-18 17:20:00
The controversy goes on! All the way back on Wednesday, I gave you "Come Sail Away" as The Best Plot Twist In A Song Which Makes A Lame Song Cool." I noted in that article that the angels/aliens maybe didn't take the guy with them because the singer says they climbed aboard their starships, not we climbed aboard. Then, I corrected myself after having listened to the song again, and decided that in fact the singer explained that, no, he'd gone with the aliens, so everything was okay. But then, I remembered that I'm never wrong, so I did some research -- research being Googling "Come Sail Away" lyrics. And this is what I found: nearly every website that I checked agreed with my original says it's:I thought that they were angels, but to my surpriseThey climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skiesSinging come sail away, come sail awaySo does and LyricsDepot. But, again: has it as "We," as does StLyrics, although they q...
The Best Correction of A Lame Interpretation of A Song
2008-04-17 15:19:00
I have a correction to make. Yesterday, in discussing The Best Plot Twist In A Song Which Makes A Lame Song Cool, I said this:But wait... don't get too comfy, because these, in fact, are not angels, they are aliens, with a starship that heads towards the skies! And possibly still takes the guy with him! (I say possibly because if you look at the lyrics closely, you'll see that the singer says they climbed aboard their starships and headed for the skies, not we or I and they or something. So it's possible that the alien angels came, showed the guy how great life could be, and then flew away, leaving him more morose than ever. But I don't like to think about that option.)Then I went home and was feeding the Babies! dinner and listening to music -- something we usually do when Sweetie is gone at night; dinner consisted mostly of cookies -- and listened more closely and found that in fact, the singer says: "we climbed aboard their starship..."So that's a relief. It wasn't just the...
Rapid ECG Interpretation 3rd Edition 2007 (Contemporary Cardiology)
2008-04-15 15:48:00
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is the first test performed on most cardiac patients–one that helps make the fi rst part of the diagnosis and one that can frequently direct treatment decisions. Thus, for any physician, a solid understanding of the ECG is critical. Learning the basics and subtleties of the ECG is a right of passage for all physicians and health care providers during their training. So, what would we want from a book on ECGs? Ideally, such a book would be comprehensive, yet concise, practically oriented, and explain pathophysiology and its application to practice.Dr. Khan has written such a book. Rapid ECG Interpretation is comprehensive, yet concise, and very practically oriented. More important, it takes a step-by-step approach, walking the reader through a thorough evaluation of the ECG. This, as many of us have been taught, is the “right” way to look at an ECG. This edition includes a new opening chapter that covers basic concepts. This quickly orients the reader...

Raging Debate Over Frank Miller's "Interpretation" of Will Eisner's The Spi
2008-04-09 15:51:00
We hear a lot of whispering about Frank Miller's upcoming cinematic take on Will Eisner's "The Spirit." And with the first trailer due to be released in just a few days at New York Comic-Con, the whispering is picking up steam, especially as the first green screen images were leaked to the fan press a few days ago. Of course, if you're old enough to remember the brouhaha about Michael Keaton as "Batman," you know it's too early to accurately judge. On the other hand Brandon Routh as "Superman"? Terribly miscast, poor guy. Anyway, if you'd like to keep up with the debate - or participate in the conversation - check out this message board over at The Comics Journal. You can also see green screen shots there of Gabriel Macht as The Spirit, Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus, and several more, including a hot shot of Eva Mendes.

Mind Mapping Your Dreams for Interpretation
2008-03-13 21:29:00
After posting several articles on dream interpretation and mind mapping your dreams, a commenter asked if I had an example of how I mind map my dreams. In this post you will see a jpg of a sample mind map I created using “Mindjet MindManager” software yet doing a Wikipedia search will yield some great hand drawn mind maps. As you look at the photo you can see that I try to explain each symbol all alone and emanating further out. Then I create an offshoot or a cloud off that symbol with what the meaning of the symbol is to me. From there you can see that as I dream I notice the same symbols or meanings come up over and over. Once I know a symbol or I know what a series of symbols means, I can associate them to other dreams down the line. Eventually you start to recognize the meanings quicker because you recognize the pattern. It’s not perfect, your meanings for a dream might change as you grow but the thread of meaning is always there. I use mind mapping to b...

Psychology Today- The Benefits of Dream Interpretation
2008-03-04 03:47:00
A research in the unknown region of the psychic sphere that was performed using dream interpretation discovered the existence of a wild side in the conscience, which functions independently and constantly influences the conscience in order to destroy it through craziness. It was also discovered that the unconscious that produces our dreams is saintly and its wisdom is beyond any doubt. If we learn to translate the dream images into words, we can understand the messages sent by the unconscious to protect and cure us from depression and any mental illness, eliminating the danger of craziness and despair forever. Our dreams are alive-they contain important messages that should be deciphered so that we may be protected from our enemy, the anti-conscience. Most mental illnesses cause violent reactions exactly because when the anti-conscience dominates us, we become violent. The solution to eliminate the dangerous influence and constant attacks of the anti-conscience is dream interpretation ...

Up for interpretation
2008-01-14 19:20:00
There is this dream that I keep having lately. It has various details, but some of the basics are the same. The one I remember most vividly starts out with me going into labor at home. When Guy arrives home, he isn't the Guy I know, but instead, he is a large Hispanic man who works as a janitor. It is still Guy, but it isn't. And I can't understand a word he says because all he speaks is Spanish. From there, I wake up in the hospital to find that I had already had the baby. He looks like a blond haired, blue eyed Cabbage Patch doll and never blinks. He won't have anything to do with breastfeeding.I can't remember any of the birth. When I ask Guy about it, he just continues to speak Spanish to me. Then, I realize that we had forgotten to call the doula when I went into labor. There is no one to tell me about my labor and delivery. When I get up from the bed, I find that I have an incision across the bottom of my belly that was most certainly from a c-section, but everyone insists ...
The Leningrad Symphony – a personal interpretation of the Symphony No.7 O
2008-01-11 14:01:00
Like much music of quality, the Seventh Symphony of Dmitri Shostakovich, the Leningrad, is either loved or hated, rather than tolerated. It is famous, or infamous, depending on your point of view, for its first movement, a unique statement in the history of music, a movement lasting just under half of the symphony’s massive eighty minutes. It is also music, I believe, that is uniquely misunderstood, the popular interpretation being far too naïve an analysis of the motives of a composer as unpredictably and alternatively complex and trite as Shostakovich. So this is my personal version. First the description. I apologise if you already know the piece. The piece opens with a confident, harmonically complex theme which seems to pass from one place to another, from one orchestral section to another like question, answer and analysis. It seems to portray life lived ordinarily, but tangibly celebrating the sophistication and tolerance of negotiated social contact. There is conflict here...

Rule Interpretation Could Hurt Alaskan Cruises
2008-01-04 02:21:00
According to the Kodiak Daily Mirror, a 120 year old maritime law by the U.S. Bureau of Customs may be interpreted differently than it has for years. The new interpretation would have a major impact on tourism from cruise ships visiting Alaska. In short the way that they want to read the law would limit the time that a cruise ship can stay in Alaskan ports if foreign owned. Most cruise ships are registered in foreign countries. The ships would have to spend at least half as much time in a foreign port as in U.S. ports. If enforced, the law will affect cruises already booked for 2008 and 2009 and seriously affect revenues for the ports.
Dream Interpretation; What Does it all Mean?
2007-12-27 19:13:00
We have written about dreams several times here at the blog, and how people find us in Search Engines is a lot of the time in searching for dream interpretation. Yet it’s not all that easy of a task to just look-up a meaning and see if it fits. No matter if you come from a Jungian or Shamanic view of dreams, they will remain a personal part of you. How can a dictionary of dreams help this? Often it can add insight, prime the pump and help you, picking a dream dictionary is difficult but most people I know will pick several and one just resonates with them. The key is figuring out what it means to you. Several searches by readers here have been things such as; “What does a Chinese or Asian person mean in my dreams?” Depending on where you live and in which culture you grew up, the answer will be different. What does an Asian person mean to you, how do you feel about them; holders of eastern knowledge or maybe you subscribe to the ‘bad driver’ ment...
My interpretation of the perfect end of year
2007-12-27 07:22:00
I'm supposed to write my interpretation of the perfect end of year as MBB's end of year theme. At first I thought I'd write about something surreal like complete peace on earth or the total elimination of poverty on our planet. But then these situations would be too perfect nearing impossibility. My perfect end of year would imply everything going on smoothly at home for the end of year festivities. What I mean by that is that I expect the food to be good, the decoration lovely and the people, that is, my family, happy and jovial. Hehe! Yeah I know, that's already asking too much. I know that one thing or the other is bound not to turn out right. But I hope everything works just fine! That's it, this is my interpretation of the perfect end of year. I know it's a short post but I'm actually very busy cleaning up and coming up with a nice menu for the 31st.So I wish you all a very happy new year 2008! God bless! :D

Interpretation of Dreams
2007-12-15 13:11:00
People have different interpretation of dreams. I have mine too; but among of all of my dreams, I only believe one of them. I have had so many dreams; but I can never remember, exactly, what the dream was about, and I forget about the whole thing when I get up. Dreams have a hidden meaning that we are left to discover for ourselves. But, do you believe in dreams? Have you ever had dreams that came true? Do you pay attention to them or just ignore them? I am not the type of person who believes these things. To me, dreams are only representations of our subconscious mind.I know this is funny or strange, but how about dreaming of poop? Do you believe the meaning is money? I have dreamed of poop many times in my life, and ninety-nine percent of the time the dream came true, in reference to money, not poop!
