Up in the air, but about to land!

Well, what an interesting couple of weeks we've had! We are about to move all of our animals to a nice piece of land near Carsphairn. There they will have more room and there will also be space for a polytunnel for growing plants! Unfortunately, while everything is up in the air like this, it's going to be hard to get much updating done on this site, but do not fear! As soon as we can we will update you all on the Roboski babies(they are out and running about now - and they are sooo cute!) and some new residents too.Wish us luck on the big move!

Mr Smith

Mr Smith came to us with his wife, Mrs Smith a few years ago. Apart from being a little hen pecked (Mrs Smith was a very possessive wife!) he also had an eye infection that had forced his eye closed. We bathed it and tended it, but unfortunately it didn't seem to get any better, so the Vet decided it would be best to take his eye out. The photograph, left, is of him after his operation. A while ago he and Mrs Smith went to live with good friends of ours who provided him with a beautiful run in their garden. Mrs Smith, sadly, passed away just before Christmas, so we donated two of Snowball's daughters (Mr Smith is neutered) to keep him company and he's a very happy bunny still. The fact he only has one eye doesn't sem to worry him in the slightest!

Sabrina!

Well, we've had a bit of excitement over the weekend with Sabrina (left). On Saturday morning, at about 4am she went out (anti-social little thing!) and didn't come back all that day. She didn't even make an appearance at lunchtime, which is when she seems to like us best. Hmm.Anyway, there was no sign of her on Sunday or Monday. We'd even resorted to the dreaded walks along the road to make sure she hadn't been run over, but no sign whatsoever. Finally today we found her, stuck up a tree! Daft cat. She's eaten (unsurprisingly her first priority) and is now resting up and recovering.We're glad to see her back, and at least now we can all stop worrying.More news from us later!

A bit more about our animals!

Currently at the sanctuary we have a large variety of animals. We have rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, ferrets, cockatiels, chipmunks, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, love birds, budgies, finches, slow worms, chickens, doves, a parakeet and an African grey parrot (going by the name of Max who you should be able to see pictures of on this site already!). The vast majority of our animals are rescued and have been maltreated in the past. Our aim is to give them permanent, loving homes.In the future we will feature the stories of some of our animals on this site, detailing how they came to be with us, so stay tuned for more info!
