Management Lesson
2008-05-26 01:47:00
One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route. No problems for the first few stops - a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back.Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically meek? Well, he was. Naturally, he didn't argue with Big John, but he wasn't happy about it. The next day the same thing happened - Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day, and the next. This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff.By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong; wha...

What is Unit Trust?
2008-05-21 01:19:00
A unit trust fund is a collective investment scheme, which pools the savings of investors with similar investment objectives in a special "trust" fund managed by professional fund managers. The pooled monies in the unit trust fund will then be invested in a diversified portfolio of securities and other assets in accordance with the unit trust fund's investment objectives and as permitted under the Securities Commission's (SC) Guidelines on Unit Trust Funds. The investment scheme of a unit trust fund can be illustrated as a tripartite relationship between the manager, the trustee and the unitholders. The manager is responsible for the management and operations of the unit trust fund whilst the trustee holds all the assets of the unit trust fund. The obligations and rights of each of the three parties are specified in the Deed, (a legal document entered into between the manager and the trustee, and registered with the SC). The Deed regulates the duties and responsibilities of the man...

Another History Created
2008-04-13 17:51:00
REMBAU, April 13 (Bernama) -- The opening of Al-Azhar University's branch campus here would attract thousands of Muslim students from Southeast Asia and enhance Malaysia 's image to the world, said a representative of the university from Egypt, Dr Umar Abdullah Kamil. The establishment of the branch campus outside the Middle East also marked the changing of the Al-Azhar mindset in its history of over 1,000 years since the beginning of its foundation during the reign of the Fatimiyyah dynasty, he said."Just like in Cairo, the branch campus will have a mosque and students' organisation. We have worked hard to make this come true and Alhamdulillah (God willing), we will succeed," he told reporters after the ground-breaking ceremony for the branch campus at the Yayasan Sofa Negeri Sembilan Complex, near Kampung Bukit Sembilan, today. He said the Al-Azhar university council planned to establish a smaller branch campus in Thailand in the future. He is confident that due to Malaysia's imag...

It's a very tiring day for me but, the long waiting for my eldest son is over today for the Astro Ceria RUN for FUN. Next time the organizer should arrange that parents do not have to walk so far to send their children to the starting point (or because I'm not fit? Hehehe)... But, the time taken to sent him down to the starting point is longer than the time the kids took to finish the run. If I remember correctly the participant on 1st place fininst the run in about 3 mins and I took more than 5 mins. Do consider pls... Another thing, do more sensitive to some issues like praying area as within the gate open time, its the morning prayer time (Subuh) for Muslims. I know that there is a praying room within the stadium, but some complains that the security officer don't know (may be communication problem as the officer is foreigner). I think signage to show the direction could solve the problem. Do consider this as well...On the right is his bib for the run this morning that took pl...

A story to make us think...
2008-03-16 12:02:00
A man went to a Barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects when they eventually touched on the subject of Allah. The Barber said: I don?t believe that Allah Exists. Why do you say that? Asked the customer. Well, you just have to go out in the street & realize that Allah doesn?t exist. Tell me if Allah Exists, would there be so many sick people?Would there be abandoned Children? If Allah existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can?t imagine a loving Allah who would allow all of these things. The customer thought for a moment, but didn?t respond because he didn?t want to start an argument. The Barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and untrimmed beard, he looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barbersh...

Becareful Next Time You out for Shopping
2008-03-13 15:48:00
Just wanna share my experience during shopping at one of the hypermarket near my house. Want to know what I discovered? Take a look at the photos I took:Look carefully at both pic. Can you see the difference between the selling price set by the hypermarket and the price tag by the supplier? The hypermarket retail price is MYRo.o9 higher than the price set by the factory. Even it is less than 10 sen but I think it is against business ethic. Let say they already sold 10 pieces of the product, meaning they already making 90 sen extra.Actually, I did complain to the customer service and their answers to me is this is the first time they get this sort of complain from customers. I also heard they said that their workers forgot to peel off the original price tag set by the supplier. I feel like being cheated by all these hypermarket tycoon al this while. Aaarrrggghhh!!!They did apologised to me. Apologizing is easy and I have no problem to accept their apology but I think it is my respons...
