Life is a whirlwind sometimes?
2008-06-03 17:36:00 Roadtrip Update: Sorry that they’ve been few and far between. I’m currently waiting for Overlay.tv to finish going over the contract I sent them - and hopefully I will have $5000 for my roadtrip with-in the week. Everyone there has been a big help and the money will go towards acquiring a laptop, camcorder, gps, and pay for the outrageous gas prices for the trip. I don’t know if $5000 will be enough for the whole trip - but I’m certain it is enough for the first half of the country. I’m hoping to pick up momentum and get sponsors / advertisers to keep it going. Currently it’s been rough to keep updates coming — as my new house - doesn’t have running water or electricity. It’s quite a doozy - my wife and I also are between jobs as we just moved out here. To say the least it’s been interesting. I almost feel like a pioneer - living by candlelight errr I mean flashlights. About our Move to Cleveland Our house definitely needs ... More About: Life
Trip from Utah to Ohio: $1000; Owning a home outright for $3,000 = Priceles
2008-05-22 22:46:00 IF you’re not aware - my wife and I just bought our first home. This is huge since we’ve had months in the past two years where it has been hard to come up with our rent, without borrowing from relatives. Due to hard times our credit was shot, but thanks to the housing crisis - foreclosures are plentiful. We bought a triplex about 1 mile from Case Western Reserve College. It only cost us $3,000 - yes it needs about 5-10,000 in repairs but it appraises over 100,000 and is in ok shape all things considered. Needs some drainage pipes fixed, fireplaces need repaired, porch and flooring need fixed, but can’t complain for $3000. I’ve never bought a car cheaper than $3,000. My rent for 1 year was around $8000. Now that we don’t have a rent payment we can afford to put money into fixing up this house. I’m hoping to eventually use it for college housing, or sell it and upgrade to a nicer home for my wife and me. Either way it’s nice to know we went f... More About: Ohio , Home , Utah , Trip
TNX Text Links Ads - Make Money with your Site - I?ll give it a thumbs up.
2008-05-22 22:33:00 TNX - pronounced ‘thanx’, as in sms texting language is an up and coming Text-Link Exchange marketplace. The premise behind TNX is that by increasing the amount of ‘quality’ links coming into your website, you will also increase your search engine rankings, and thus get more traffic. It’s a good practice when using services like these not to disclose the fact that you are using them as google frowns at the practice. As a rebellious blogger though and not a fan of being told what I can / can’t do - I recommend giving them a try - both as a monetary source as well as a source for more traffic. One thing I like is that they have a market where you can buy / sell / trade TNX points - you could also give them away in contests and what not. It’s like a liquid commodity, and personally I like them a lot better than Text-Link-Ads. They do offer full-control over what kind of links are placed on your site, as well as what kind of sites your links sho... More About: Marketing , Money , Make Money , Blogging , Links
Announcing Complete City Guide of our Summer Roadtrip!
2008-05-17 21:27:00 I’ve chosen the cities that we will be stopping in. We will take any blogger in the state as long as they are able to meet us at the chosen city. I do apologize for any who would like to be interviewed but cannot meet us in these destinations, but we have picked them as they are logistically the best cities to visit in order to save as much gas as we can. I’ve already calculated the trip being around 15,000 miles, and costing at least $3,500 just in gas alone. As such - Donations are GREATLY welcomed. Just send money via paypal to: yourstruly AT patrickcurl DOT com We are splitting the trip up into two blocks to take a small break / breather. Without further adieu here are the cities that we’ve picked: First Leg: Starting in Cleveland, OH. 1. Erie, PA 2. Buffalo, NY - We’d like to do the interview @ Niagra Falls if possible. 3. Toronto, ON 4. Montreal, QC 5. Montpelier, VT 6. Manchester, NH 7. Portland, ME 8. Boston, MA 9. Providence, RI 10. Hartford, CT 11... More About: Summer , Guide , City , Complete , Roadtrip
We got Sponsored! 50 State Roadtrip goes to Canada too!
2008-05-13 00:26:00 As you may or may not be aware(if this is your first time to my blog) - I’m embarking on a journey of a lifetime. Perhaps the first of many such journeys. I am going to be interviewing 1 blogger in EACH of the 50 states. (Now the 10 major provinces of Canada too!) Recently, I’ve put out calls for sponsors, and I’m very close to closing a contract with an awesome sponsor - I don’t want to layout all the details just yet - you’ll have to stay tuned to learn more about this great web2.0 company and what they have to offer. The exciting thing is with their support we will be able to get this launched a lot quicker. Which means I need your help - at our sponsor’s suggestion we’ve decided to not only hit ALL 50 states, but ALSO all the Provinces of Canada as well. Each blog will be featured on video sharing sites across the internet, podcasting directories, etc… This is truly the power of synergy - each blog accepted will also be linking bac... New Niche Site: UsedPalmPdas.com
2008-05-06 21:34:00 I’ve been working on a Niche Site - I’ve tried joomla, wordpress and moveable type in an effort to basically create a conglomeration of info plus add an ebay store. I’ve basically been testing and trying different methods. Nothing was looking the way I wanted it. So I found a method using rss to simply create a portal related to my Niche, and that’s what I’ve done. It is a little ad heavy - and afterall the point is to make money. However it also delivers up to the minute rss feeds, related videos, etc… I would definitely like some creative criticism as this small Niche site is actually part of a much bigger plan to come that is going to be pretty huge. Let me know your thoughts. I appreciate your time checking it out. The website is: UsedPalmPdas.com Most Popular March 31, 2008 — The Twitter-Monster is hungry. Let’s Feed It! How can you tell Cashquests has hit Bottom? Recommending Paid Survey Sites(
2008-05-06 19:38:00 Cashquests by Kumiko used to be a wonderful asset for marketers. Kumiko had ton of great insights. But alas she has become just another sell out. You know you’ve hit rock bottom when you’re recommending people to go to “Get Paid Survey Sites “. Seriously - I’ve tried that and I’m sure most of us have, and they are not worth your time or money. Get Paid Survey Sites are a total waist of money. I think it’s disgusting that the person who took over Cashquests is recommending Get Paid Survey Sites, obviously they aren’t making money or they wouldn’t be suggesting Get Paid Survey Sites as a viable way to make money. God Bless the Rich People?.We Deserve Every Opportunity Given Us. - So Says
2008-05-04 23:41:00 Yeah - I’ll say it. I’m an Obama backer - after the whole war and 9-11 fiasco I’d go base-jumping with out a parachute before voting for a republican, or Hillary Clinton. Listen to what Hillary told O’Reilly, about how the rich deserve to be more blessed than the poor. Here’s what Mccain says about the Iraq war being a war for Oil. So who do we vote for? My vote is for Obama - but even he doesn’t have a good answer about the economic situation we’re getting into. I think America as a whole is one large titanic and the iceberg is just around the bend. Call me pessimistic but something big is coming and it’s not going to be fun. Related Posts April 7, 2008 — Maybe I should run for President - I’m More Popular than Hilary or Bill! 2008-04-30 02:08:00 Today I’m launching an ebay auction for sponsorship of the 50 Bloggers in 50 States Roadtrip. I am going to be travelling a huge distance for this project. I figure might as well sell ads on the van, right? You can view the auction here: Roadtrip - 50 Blogs in 50 States - Extreme Ad Package! The starting price is $497. Which in my opinion is way under-priced, I can see this going as high as $2000 or more. What you receive: 1 ad on my van in the back window for everyone to see. I will be travelling more than 5000 miles over the span of this roadtrip - it will definitely get a lot of eyes. You will be one of my featured sponsors and be listed on ALL posts relating to the Roadtrip. You will also receive a link on my blogroll. A 125×125 pixel banner ad. A 468×60 pixel banner ad. Ebay Niche Double Slap - get Twice the money For a Single Sale!
2008-04-29 18:47:00 What if you could make twice the money from an ebay store? You can make the initial money for the sale of whatever product it is that you’re offering, but as a double whammy you can also make an affiliate commission for referring people to ebay. Just think about that - you can make as much as $25+ per person who signs up for ebay. Plus if your site is targeted strictly to your product, add some other related affiliate banners, good seo, maybe a lot of tutorials relating to your items, and some ppc advertising, and you’ve got a guaranteed income online. Here’s an example: Say you’re selling products that help people train their pets. Now say you put up a wordpress blog with a ton of tutorials and post an ebay feed with all of your products to your site, using your affiliate link. Now if anyone buys from you - you not only get the sale but the affiliate commission. Add PPC and a newsletter and you’ll explode your business! Stay tuned - I’m working o... Tell the Big Hotshot Blogger what He Should Change!
2008-04-29 00:20:00 Hey, I’m not really a hotshot blogger, in fact I’m quite the opposite. I don’t believe I have all the answers, or that I’m all that special. I do have confidence though in what I’m saying, and I know it works. I believe humility is an important characteristic to encompass, and I know I’m not the perfect person yet. Which is why I am asking you, my readers the following questions: What would you like to see on this blog? What would you change about this blog? What suggestions do you have for this blog? Ultimately do you enjoy this blog, or do you think I’m full of fluff? I have been told that the ads are a little excessive - but right now I’m just testing a bunch to see which ones I’m going to keep, then I’ll dial it down a lot. I’m probably opening a can of worms here, but I know I have a lot of room to grow - and I’m not one to think I’m better than anyone. One other question: Do you think I should sta... Make bank recommending firefox - but don?t waste ad space!
2008-04-28 22:57:00 You should notice the add above under the search button. It basically tells anyone who has IE to get a better browser aka firefox. For each of those who download firefox I receive a buck. But why waste the space if a viewer already has firefox? Obviously they’re not going to download it again, right? You can do this easily if you follow these steps: 1. Download and install “Who Sees Ads” 2. Add this code to your header file for your theme: <?php function ae_detect_ie() { if (isset($_SERVER[’HTTP_USER_AGENT 217;]) && (strpos($_SERVER [’HTTP_USER_AGENT’], ‘MSIE’) !== false)) return true; else return false; } ?> </head> 3. Next you will need to configure an ad context in Who See’s Ads. Go to the admin panel for the Who Sees Ads plugin. - Choose a name for your ad context. I chose ‘firefox’. - Now go down to second option from the bottom it should say: X if (<scroll box... More About: Marketing , Space , Firefox , Make , Bank

Hirosito what is it good for? What is Hirosito & Why do I care?
2008-04-24 08:02:00 Hirosito is an interesting word. Why am I blogging about Hirosito? Tonight I was searching for niche keywords. I’m a big fan of the tv sitcom heroes, so I put heroes into my webceo, under the ‘get suggestions’ tab. What I’m looking for are good niches with a high KEI. Heroes yeilded Nada. After heroes, I tried the word “hero”. Still nothing. My favorite character on the sitcom is Hiro Nakamura. So the next term I put in was Hiro with an “i”. I was flabbergasted when it pulled up the term: Hirosito. I had no clue what Hirosito means but the kei is: 9,501,221.183. This is huge it’s the largest find I’ve ever found. Of course my blogging about Hirosito may create an influx of competition for this word, but I’m curious to see what may happen if I can rank in the top 10 for Hirosito. According to webceo there are about 234,215 searches for Hirosito daily, however there’s only 5,770 competing websites. I’m not ... More About: Marketing , Care , Good

2008-04-24 01:54:00 Here is a little secret: .com’s only matter to major business sites, and big time blogs. The key to successful Niche building, is BULK SITES. The more the better. If you have the money - by all means go and buy up 100 .com websites for $800. If you’re poor like the rest of us - or a bit frugal - you might want to try .info names instead. Godaddy.com is running a special right now where you can actually buy .info domains for $.99! No, that is not a typo. You could buy 100 domains for $100. GoDaddy.com 120×60 ” /> I recommend going and buying at least 10 domains right now. Of course before you buy your domains you should definitely research some profitable niches, I highly recommend using webceo to do this. My suggestion for creating and choosing the domains is to research your chosen niche, find the 3 keywords that appear the most, 4 keywords max, and choose a domain like: keyword1-keyword2-keyword3.info - I’m not a super expert at this though, I’m... Secret Tools of a Power Commenter. 6 ways to Get Backlinks Galore!
2008-04-23 20:33:00 As I mentioned in my post earlier today about “16 Ways To bring your Blog Back To Life“, one of my tips was to comment as often as possible. Commenting on other blogs needs to be a huge part of your daily blogging career. Here are some power tips to make the most of your commenting, in the least amount of time. 1. Download and install Comment Kahuna, this software is amazing. It lets you search for blog posts with certain keywords, you can choose which platform, and you can also search blogs that have ‘nofollow’ removed, which means that each comment you submit will carry some good SEO juice. 2. Make sure you have at least 5 pillar posts. Many people make the big mistake of linking to their main page when submitting comments, this does bring traffic and seo power, but there’s an even better way. 3. Create a profile for each pillar article in Comment Kahuna. For your blog link - link directly to that post. For your name - instead of using your name, use ... Is your Blog a Dead Beast? 16 Ways Bring it to life!
2008-04-23 10:20:00 I launched this blog a year ago this month, and when I first launched it my primary focus was to make money. I’ve learned a lot in that year, and made many mistakes. I actually gave up on this blog for about 7 months. I came back to it on March 15th of this year. In fact I had lost all the previous posts, I’d done and had to start anew. (Roughly 130+ posts gone). My original theme was using the law of attraction to bring $1 Million into my life by the age of 30, which I believe was perhaps a bit over zealous. My new goal - apply what I’ve learned in my year of blogging, and help other’s become successful. I’d also like to launch a few social related businesses eventually, that are currently in the ‘idea’ stages. My 50 States Roadtrip / American Blogger Directory is just part of gaining an keeping an audience. I Know Twitter can Take you Places? But get you out of Jail?!
2008-04-16 19:08:00 This sounds like something out of a spy movie or something. According to ( Marketing Pilgrim via Mercury News) a 29-year-old UC Berkeley journalism student got out jail using Twitter . Apparently, while in Egypt, he was arrested for taking a picture. Upon being arrested he quickly notified his ‘Network’ with the word ‘Arrested’, those who new his business and where he was immediately notified the right people, and before morning was up he had UC Berkley hired lawyer, and the American Embassy knocking on the door of the Jail . From the Donkey’s Mouth: Buck, 29, a former Oakland Tribune multimedia intern, used the ubiquitous short messaging service to tap out a single word on his cellular phone: ARRESTED. The message went out to the cell phones and computers of a wide circle of friends in the United States and to the mostly leftist, anti-government bloggers in Egypt who are the subject of his graduate journalism project. When she reached a certain point level it showed a special wedding proposal screen and a ring. Awestruck at what he’d done she of course said yes. Popcap the makers of the game were impressed by this love story and as a wedding present flew the lovebirds to Seattle, for their honeymoon, where I’m betting there was quite a bit of Dungeons and Dragons to be had. Not only that Popcap also gave away 250 free games to those at the Wedding Reception, pretty nice huh?!
