What catches my attention is the statement that says'At this year's Consumer Electronics Show, Creative showcased a Wi-Fiportable player.'I don't remember that Creative showcased any Wi-Fi portable player in CES 2007 except for the Xdock, which can transmit media wirelessly to its receivers. However, we do see Creative capable of building WiFi function as it has another company dealing with WiFi broadband service provider. Creative Preliminary Q3 FY07 Results
2007-03-31 11:14:00 Bad news, Creative to report Q3 operating loss of $20million. Creative Labs is still not able to pull out of the red for this quarter. Last quarter was good due to $100million payment by Apple. This operating loss is due to lower-than expected sales for Creative products in Asia and the United States, and restructuring charges worldwide relating to cost reduction efforts in the quarter. However sales are expected to come in at approximately $180 million, with gross margins above 20 percent, as promised.This is most likely to be contributed mainly by Europe sales of Creative Zen V Plus and Zen Vision M or W.It is sad that Creative, creator of sound blaster, pioneer of MP3 players and now iPod accessory/accessories maker cannot be the market leader of MP3 player instead now it is making quarterly loss due to operating expenses. Ever since Creative won the Zen Patent lawsuit with Apple and Mr Sim Wong Woo mentioned before that they are going the harvest the fruits of their intelletual property.
