Tashan Movie Review

Tashan, which was released today, opened to mixed reviews and most of the critics have panned the movie. Sanjay Ram from Business of Cinema also gave his two cents and here are some excerpts.To start with, the plot is interesting. Though it's a wee bit twisted, it is cleverly scripted. There isn't an overdose of anything and more or less things are to the point making the entire viewing experience fun, just as it is meant to be.At this point one must commend the dialogue writer for the spunky and zesty dialogues that bring a smile to your face. The lines are not new, but the language is and so is the essence packed in it making it different and in a sense new.Character development is another area that is thoroughly laudable. Apparently the recent rumors of Arbaaz and Malaika Khan heading for splitsville were just a publicity gimmick!Said a source close to the couple, “It’s a publicity gimmick. The split rumors are from a skin cream advertisement, which Malaika and Arbaaz will be endorsing together.”Describing the concept of the ad, sources add, “The ad will show how the love has gone from their marriage and how they renew it again with the skincream. U, Me Aur Hum Movie Review

Raja Sen from Rediff reviews U, Me Aur Hum and gives it a 3.5/5 rating! The movie does falter at times however overall impresses. Ajay Devgan does a good job as a first time director and Kajol as expected is a force to reckon with. Some excerpts from the review: Review : He tells a very powerful story, for example, without ever resorting to that most traditional and painful of Bollywood cop-out methods, the flash-cuts. It may sound simple, but this is a step to applaud. So used to are we to an audience (we assume) is inattentive that the unfolding of a twist -- or the fruition of a plot-point -- is automatically accompanied by a flurry of scenes we saw a half-hour ago and a repeat of dialogues.

We don’t know if this is true or someone showing off their Photoshop skills but a picture of Abhishek Bachchan with Wyclef Jean has popped up. Looks like Abhishek sang Main yahan ka desi don and Khai ke Banarsi paan, modified versions of the original songs with Jean. Aadesh said, “It was unbelievable. Wyclef and I were discussing a track where we needed hip-hop-rap in Hindi by an Indian star, and he said, ‘How about Abheee-shake?’ I jumped at the idea. I’ve recorded many songs with Amitji. And I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to record with Junior who I know has a terrific singing voice.”Wyclef flew down from New York to ad his vocals alongside Abhishek’s chorus.
