2007-12-27 17:24:00 Sania Mirza-the youth icon of India is having fun it seems. She was spotted recently in the company of Shahid Kapur-Bollywood actor. At a prestigious hotel in Bangalore where Shahid Kapur was taking a break after shooting, in walks Sania Mirza and walks directly to Shahid. It seems she was part of the group. Incidentally she was also staying in the same hotel. Shahid says about the incident, ?Yes, we did meet over dinner on Tuesday night, but we were in a group. My friend Shriram and a couple more friends were with us. We had dinner at the hotel I am staying in and people must have seen her entering. That?s how people must have thought we had something romantic happening. After dinner, Sania went back and Shriram and I spent the night catching up on our lives in my room,?Then everyone proceeded towards Shahid Kapur's room including Sania. Now the news is that after some time all the other people in the group started leaving the room one by one. But there was no sign of Sania leavin... Jodha Akbar Delayed-Ashutosh Gowariker Bedridden
2007-12-26 08:07:00 The release of Ashutosh Gowariker 's film Jodha Akbar starring Hritik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which was supposed to release on the 25th of January 2008, has been delayed because Ashutosh has been bedridden with acute back pain. The perfectionist that Ashutosh is, he supervises everything right from the background music to the dubbing and the editing. This he has not been able to do because of his illness. Hence the delay. The music of Jodha Akbar has also been delayed as UTV is releasing the music under their own banner (Their new music label). Previously the music rights were given to BIG music but due to some differences, UTV decided to release it themselves. All in all it seems that Jodha Akbar has started on a wrong footing what with all the delays. But everyone who has seen the promos and the look of the film swear that this one's a winner. 2007-12-25 08:54:00 I couldn't resist this. One has to read this review. It's amazingly funny. This review was written by Nitesh aka Sifar aka Bollywood Byter on his blog. Read it.If you want to know how good Taare is, just go to your nearest theater and watch the people coming out after the show. The cacophony that surrounds a crowd exiting a theater will be missing. Some would be walking in slow motion. Some would look petrified. At least that?s what happened in the theater I went to. Not a single soul was talking after the movie, probably because what everyone saw on screen was not fiction, but a semi-biography of his/her own life. In fact, the normally rowdiest gang in a theatre (ie my friends and I) that is uber vocal at the end of a film left the theater in pin drop silence. 2007-12-24 19:39:00 I'm really glad that Taare Zameen Par is doing well commercially. Congratulations for a brilliant debut to Aamir Khan for directing this masterpiece. I wrote a small ode to the film: It really touches you the way it was meant to touch.I cried for Ishan at places, I smiled and laughed when he made his faces.I clapped when he won the prize. It brought tears when people meant to bring him to size.I really wished I could be Ram Shankar Nikumbh and do my bit. I wish I could do more rather than just sit.I remembered my school days, the pressures, the homework, the wayward ways.But alas, it was a film and it had to end.There was no way the rules could bend.So sore. 2007-12-23 08:32:00 What a movie- Taare Zameen Par. The superstar actor and now director Aamir Khan proves once again that he is not someone who will follow the trends of the market. He believes in setting the trends.Taare Zameen Par is a story of this 8-9 year old boy who has a learning disability called dyslexia. He is just not able to decipher letters and words or numbers properly. I was amazed to learn so much about dyslexia from the film. One identifies with the character because somewhere each one of us had some form of weakness in us when we were children. Each one of us had at least one thing which we wanted to hide from the world. Aamir manages to treat the subject sensitively and with maturity.Taare Zameen Pe is a film of and for children but more importantly it speaks to adults and parents who must see reason when dealing with their children's problems instead of spanking them or punishing them.Hats off to Aamir Khan who dares to do films on subjects which most people in Bollywood would not... Teji Bachchan Passes Away
2007-12-23 06:47:00 Bollywood's greatest superstar lost his mother.Teji Bachchan, wife of poet the late Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother of Bollywood super actor Amitabh Bachchan , passed away at 1.05 pm on Friday at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra. Dr Narendra Trivedi, spokesperson and vice-president of the hospital said: "It was a peaceful and natural death."The Bachchan family, including Amitabh, his brother Ajitabh and son Abhishek reached the hospital early in the morning followed by family friends Anil Ambani and Subrata Roy. The family canceled all engagements scheduled for the week.The cremation was held at Juhu at 10 o'clock. A host of celebrities attended the funeral.
