Success Story of GoodAh!!! Restaurant

Heard about a 25 hour service restaurant? I’m not sure if I remember it correctly but when I was in my younger years I think I for once I tried to eat on that restaurant but I don’t remember that it has a 25 hour service. Since there are only 24 hours in a ...

Pest Control Business Idea
2008-03-10 06:48:00
I guess in this kind of business, many will be disgusted because you are actually dealing with pests like rodents, termites, cockroaches, and other insects that annoy us, it can also be a health risk and sometimes destroy our property. Like for example, a termite. Although termites are very small, they are destructive to our homes if not properly eliminated. A whole house can be torn apart by those tiny insects not because of their size, but because of their enormous numbers that eat the structures of our house. Most houses are built with wooden structures and even modern housing today use wooden structures on the roof and ceiling even though the walls are made of concrete. There is a time while I was working in an office building with all of the structures made of concrete, I saw traces of termites on the floor near the wall. My workstation and our department’s cubicle was parallel to the wall. That time I was having an allergic rhinitis often and sometimes there are patche...

How To Make Your Blog or Website WAP Compliant
2008-03-08 08:20:00
Thinking of making your website or blog WAP compliant? It looks like it is easier said than done. Imagine, how will you fit the PC monitor screen to a cell phone screen? Those tiny LCD cellphone screen can’t possibly fit in it, that is, if you will put everything in it. If you are using your cell phone to browse non WAP blogs and websites, you can still view the whole page but you have to zoom-in and zoom-out in order for you to read the contents. It’s not possible to load the whole page in a cell phone’s browser because the letters are too tiny and will not show properly. A WAP compliant or mobile website have slim lined(eliminated the non necessary contents) the webpage and just put the important contents in a small mobile website. If you own a website (a non blog site) with thousands of pages, for example: static html pages, it will take a long time for you to convert all those pages. But if you own a hosted blog, then lucky for you because it will only take you...

How To Make a Dwarf Mango Tree
2008-03-05 09:12:00
Mango, the country’s national fruit is considered as one of the finest in the world. It is the third most important fruit crop of the country based on export volume and value next to banana and pineapple. It has an established domestic market and has bright opportunities for the international market both in fresh or processed form. The country’s export variety, The “Carabao Mango” is one of the best varieties in the world. But in order to harvest enough quantities for commercial purposes, you need to have a large land area to plant the trees. And as we are all aware of, mango trees are big and tall so the the harvesting will require labor cost that might not be feasible or might reduce our profit. And in addition to those disadvantages, harvesting is also time consuming and if we will use pesticides bigger trees will cost you more. So what is the solution then? we have to make trees smaller to reduce the overhead expenses. The following is how you create a d...

Do Businesses Need CRM or Customer Relationship Management?
2008-03-03 02:57:00
Have you heard the phrase “The Customer Is Always Right”? I guess this is not new to you or maybe you have heard this a long time ago if you are in my age bracket or if you are in the age bracket of my nephews twenties below, somehow you have read it or heard it somewhere. I remember when I was a ten year old kid when I was playing inside my uncle’s hardware store. I saw a plastic bag hanging in the ceiling with a print that says “The Customer is Always Right”. Back then there were only few plastic bags and more expensive than paper bags. Then I ask my uncle what is the meaning of that? why is the customer have to be always right? what if the customer steal your items? is it right? I don’t know why ask those stupid questions but maybe because of innocence I wonder what those words means. Then he told me that it’s because through customers we made our living. It is obvious that without customers, we don’t have a business. Period. But i...

Entrepreneurship - The Road Less Traveled
2008-03-01 11:06:00
Since the title above is really the theme of this blog, it is interesting to understand the question “Why be and entrepreneur?” The easiest way to earn money is get your college degree and work with someone else. Why take the road less traveled? many don’t have the patience, the courage and the heart to go through it. It is embarrassing to say that I myself is afraid to take that road that is why I took the path to employment for many years. The only reason why I did that is because I need to survive when our family business went out of business. But still there is a fire kindling inside me that I have to have my own business because I know what it is to became an employee and to be an entrepreneur. Although running a business is really hard (which is the road less traveled), but the rewards you will reap afterwards is unsurmountable if you succeed and overcome the obstacles. I remember when I was a little kid watching my father’s workers work day and ni...

How is Paper Recycled
2008-02-27 08:43:00
Recycling paper can be a good business. Although we can’t make a very good quality paper made by big companies, in our home we can make home made paper too. With just a little creativity, we can transform old newspapers and used bond papers from offices and create another product like colored papers or art papers for school projects. Paper recycling have a noble objective, to save trees and along with it you will save mother earth and all living creatures in this planet. There are other ways to save trees, and that is to make our documents paperless but there are still demand for paper so I think it will not be possible for being paperless right now even we have this digital technology. So if you are ready to learn how to make a paper out of used paper, then lets start. The following materials are those you need to start recycling the used papers.
WAP Mobile Phone Compliant Websites
2008-02-24 09:17:00
Do you remember the song of Neil Sedaka “My World is Getting Smaller Everyday”?. Maybe the new generation haven’t heard of that song. I can still remember that song in my childhood years. Technology really makes our world smaller everyday. Since the revolution of the internet there are many smart gadgets in the market being invented year after year. Computers are getting smaller and smaller, smarter and faster. Today, you can see powerful laptops in the fraction of it’s size from it’s predecessors. Remember that 386 computers? today when you see someone still using it, I guess you will laugh and say that it only fits in a museum. Websites too are changing and becoming more and more dynamic. But one area that sparks my interest are the mobile phones that can surf the internet. Before I’m skeptic to the marketing potential of the WAP market since the small screen of those cell phones are inconvenient when surfing. Also, surfing using your computer ...

Be Your Own Boss
2008-02-23 04:53:00
Being your own boss have been a dream of many people specially those who can’t get along well to their bosses or those who aren’t satisfied with their 9 to 5 routine. There are many advantages of being your own boss as well as disadvantages but it all depends on what we really value in life. We read many opinions about this topic either it’s more secure being employed because of all the employee benefits they enjoy, like for example, fixed renumeration or earnings compared to being self-employed. Unlike being self employed, monthly earnings vary from month to month depending on your strategies or sometimes luck. An employee enjoys other benefits too like health care, bonus or performance bonus and recreations. But on the entrepreneurs side, being your own boss is sky is the limit for your earning potential because unlike being employed, an employee will just have to wait yearly to have a salary increase (it will also depends how generous or stingy your employer is...

Live Fish Transport Technology
2008-02-20 16:42:00
One of the outstanding discovery of an innovator, Bonifacio Comandante Jr. have contributed much on the fishing industry. Imagine, how can you transport live fish without water? It’s impossible because just taking a fish out of water with only a few hours it will surely be dead. But not to Boni, because he have this technology of making the fish sleep or hibernate for 24 hours without water. Not only will it save on transportation cost but the survival rate is also astounding 95 to 97.5% because the fish is not stressed during transport. Compared to the conventional way, when the fish is awake, it is prone to shock specially in a rough ride. Not only will it increase the shipping cost, it will also have high mortality rate. This technology is discovered by Boni by accident while experimenting on the sex reversals of groupers (lapu-lapu). He discovered the secret of fish hibernation in 1987 when he unintentionally left some fish in the ice bucket and found them still alive t...

Mama Sita’s Recipe For Success
2008-02-13 02:53:00
I’m sure every Filipino know the brand name Mama Sita. If I’m not mistaken they are the pioneer of ready-made sauces and mixes of Filipino dishes like kare-kare mix, sinigang mix, kaldereta mix, barbecue marinades, palabok mix and many others. It started when Mrs. Teresita “Mama Sita” Reyes’ desire to give her grandchildren living in the United States to eat Filipino dishes because all her grandchildren wants to eat are hamburgers and hotdogs. Maybe she wanted also to cultivate some Filipino culture on her grandchildren because there are many kinds of food for them to choose in the U.S. besides hamburgers and hotdogs. Anyway that desire motivates her and her children which gave them an idea to make ingredients which they can easily bring outside the country so those Filipinos living there can have a chance to eat Pinoy dishes with convenience. They then setup a company named “Mama Sita” and the first product they made is the “Biglang ...

How To Make Scented Candles
2008-02-11 04:34:00
Candle making is not new and also scented candle was already in the market for so long. Since candle business is seasonal, for example here in the Philippines there is a large demand during All Saints Day and I think scented candle also have a peak season during holidays or maybe Valentine’s Day for a romantic dinner or whatever gig you might have in mind. Anyway scented candle can also be a good business whole year round since just buying a candle to light in your home don’t need to have an occasion to do it. It will depend entirely on the customer if he or she likes to make his ambiance full of aroma of those scented candles. So if you wanted to go into this business, it is advisable to attend seminars and trainings because you will not only learn how to make those candles, you will also learn other things like tips and tricks, how to maximize your investments or other opportunities. But you can also start by your own by searching for instructions or “how-to-mak...

Watermelon Production Guide
2008-02-09 09:45:00
Have you seen a square watermelon? look at the picture on the left side. I’m not kidding. This watermelon is being sold in Japan for around 10,000 yen ($83) while regular oval watermelon costs $15-$20. Quite expensive eh? here in the Philippines it won’t cost that much if you will grow it locally. There are abundant sources in the provinces but because of our poor transportation condition all of those supplies can’t reach metro manila in perfect condition and most of the time it cost higher than it suppose to be. Then how about the square watermelon, are we able to make those like what they are doing now in Japan? looks like its not harder that we thought. I saw website that sell polycarbonate casing (Fig. 1 below) to mold the watermelon during the growing stage . Obviously you can’t shape it when it is already fully grown because the peel is already hard. You just have to put the fruit still attached to the vine inside the polycarbonate casing and let it gro...

Happy Chinese New Year! 2008 - Kung Hei Fat Choi!
2008-02-07 03:36:00
This Chinese new year many people anticipate having good luck in their side. Many of those who want to change their luck or just to be lucky bought lucky charms and follow those Chinese traditions for attracting wealth and prosperity, good health and peace. But just to be honest with you I don’t rely much or depend too much on those things even if I have Chinese blood, (hope you don’t mind telling you this) but sometimes I do. For example I follow some advice from Chinese astrology and wear lucky charms. There is even a website in Chinese astrology I found that tells about what is your lucky element from the five elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth). It is said that based on the five elements, the weakest element you have is your lucky element which you can get depending on your birthday ( try it here: find your lucky element ). So if you know your lucky element you should wear or have things made from that element. For example, if metal is your lucky element,...

What To Say If Your Prospect Only Has 10 Minutes
2008-02-06 08:00:00
I have a newsletter from Tessa Stowe which is I think similar to other newsletter I got about how as a salesman you should treat your prospect. In summary, it’s about you letting your prospect do the talking and you the listening in order to make the conversation more appealing and not repelling. I think even the most aloof prospect can be tamed if you will follow her advice. So read on…. What To Say If Your Prospect Only Has 10 Minutes
Aerial Photography Business Idea
2008-02-05 10:13:00
When you think of aerial photography, you would think that you have to ride on an airplane or a helicopter to shoot pictures from the sky looking at a bird’s eye view. Since you need airplanes to take photographs, you need an aircraft to fly you to the air and thinking of such a business, you will be discouraged enough to know how much an airplane would cost or just to rent one, you might have second thoughts if that would be profitable. It’s because just renting an airplane, even an two seater Cessna airplane would cost more or less 8,000 pesos an hour. I’m not sure if the amount I mentioned is accurate. But back then in 1987 when I was still taking up flying school it already cost 2,500 pesos an hour with a Cessna 152 airplane. It’s the cheapest and oldest trainer airplane around. It would cost you much more if you buy one and the maintenance cost would be a headache unless you have lots of money to burn. So how would you think of having an aerial photograp...

News About Merging of Yahoo! and Microsoft
2008-02-04 08:52:00
News about the acquisition of Yahoo ! by Microsoft is all over the internet and they say that this is due to Bill Gates wanting to compete with Google in online domination. And it will be purchased for US$44 billion dollars approximately. But just looking at the situation, the reason why Yahoo! is shrinking is due to the fact that more than 3/4 of search engine market was already dominated by Google (see Fig 1 below). And even if they merge it will have not much impact on Google. Yes Microsoft dominates the software industry but internet is a different thing. Although Internet explorer is the most popular browser in the world, still, it’s really the people themselves who will decide which search engine to use unless IE browsers have a built in blocking plug-in that will block anything that comes from Google. But that idea will tarnish Microsoft’s reputation and Google will be in a win-win situation. Fig 1.

Creative Candles From Kitchen Candles
2008-02-02 09:38:00
I think one of the most important attribute of an entrepreneur is his or her creativity. Specially now that the market is very competitive and the word “customer loyalty” is becoming more and more the thing of the past because there are thousands of choices you can now have whether you want to buy something or pay for services. This dilemma is common to internet businesses where if there are better choices from other competitors compared to your existing one like for example cheaper hosting services, more freebies on purchasing an item, a customer is quick to change their minds on which store to buy or services to pay. So being creative will make us stand from the rest and make us more competitive. Like for example today when I was watching a show called Kabuhayang Swak na Swak ( it’s a TV show that promotes entrepreneurship) they featured a segment about making candles shaped like real desserts or cakes. Although candle making is not new and there are hundreds ...

PayPal Members in The Philippines Can Now Withdraw Thru Their Bank Accounts
2008-01-30 09:31:00
Good news to all Paypal and eBay members in the Philippines . Today I when opened my mailbox I got an email from Paypal that I can now add my local bank account to my Paypal account. Yes it’s true! and only Philippines and Indonesian Paypal members were granted permission to include a local peso or rupiah bank account. Maybe other countries in South East Asia not yet given this privilege will follow later. Another thing, withdrawing your funds to your local bank account is cheaper compared to credit cards. Remember last year Paypal announced that credit cards holders outside the USA can withdraw funds using their credit cards? But it cost US$5 per withdrawal. In transferring your funds from Paypal to your local bank account it only cost 50 pesos if the amount you will withdraw is below 7,000 pesos. Above or equal that amount, it cost nothing! as in FREE! I think will help many internet entrepreneurs in the Philippines like online store owners, eBay sellers, affiliate marketers...
